This has been around for a few months, but I'm only just hearing about it. Artic Base for homebrew 3ds lets your physical 3ds connect wirelessly to a modified version of the Citra 3ds emulator (available for android, linux, mac, and windows), so that the emulator can read game files from the 3ds and write save files back to it. You are emulating the game - contrary to some youtube videos you are NOT streaming the game from the 3ds - but all the files are taken from and go back to the 3ds, so there's no piracy involved and no need to find or download roms. Unless the games on your 3ds are themselves pirated, in which case shame on you you naughty child!
This allows a switch-like experience where you can play a game portably on your 3ds, then when you get home boot up the same game and the same save file to play on a bigger screen in higher resolution with a more comfortable controller via citra, saving your game back to the 3ds. It also lets you take advantage of Citra's ability to play multiplayer online even though the 3ds servers are down by emulating a local connection over the internet. It's also an easy option to stream or record gameplay if you're into that without the trouble of installing a capture card mod onto your 3ds.
Now, granted, this was all already possible by copying save files back and forth from your 3ds memory card to your computer, but to do that you still had to go through the bother of setting up citra and getting your game files on there - either by finding roms or by dumping the files yourself. That could be a pretty significant hassle, but Artic base handles it all for you.
There is a downside - every time you load or save anything in your game, that data has to be transfered between your 3ds and Citra over wifi, which does add a delay and some slowdown whenever that's happening. But most of the time gameplay runs very smoothly.
Anyway, Artic Base requires a modded 3ds. Instructions can be found HERE. The process isn't very difficult, but read the directions carefully and take your time, as there's always a risk of breaking a device when installing custom firmware if you mess something up. Don't rely on video guides for this process! if the video is out of date, it might give you instructions that are no longer correct for the current methods and files!
Even if you're not interested in Citra, modding adds so much utility to the 3ds that you really should look into it if you have one. Button remapping, using larger memory cards (I wouldn't go over 128gigs), backing up save files, backing up entire games so you don't lose access to them if the aging cartridges go bad, even community ports of entire games like Doom or Off or Fallout, access to the pretendo network which is slowly rebuilding online functionality for 3ds and wii, the ability to stream from your computer to your 3ds, access to h-shop to download game updates and patches no longer available from nintendo after the e-shop's closure, and so much more.
Anyway, once you have a modded 3ds, Artic Base can be found on the Universal Updater app. I prefer the .cia version over the .3dsx version, so you don't have to go through Homebrew Launcher every time you want to use it. If you want to install it manually instead, it can be found HERE.
You also need a modified version of Citra to connect to your 3ds, which can be found HERE.

Bethany's Bizarre Miraculous Reviews Episode 4-5: Psycomedian
Apparently this episode doesn't have anything plot-shaking, it's just a good episode. Clown time!
...This better not be another recap episode.
Yes! Marinette and Adrien are just friends.
Yes! Julerose!
[!@#$]
Alright, I liked that. Marinette was being pretty Candace-coded there. Except that Jeremy plays guitar, is in a band, and has a little sister
Another famous person that lives in Miraculous Paris. Either that or a local celebrity, honestly. Or maybe it's like how Youtubers just live in apartments and the suburbs?
Honestly the French Fry movie sounds like something I'd enjoy. Something so absurd yet so serious you stop laughing partway through and you're just in awe.
He said yes! He said yes!
I'm not sure about that, Mr. Clown, I know some great jokesters that shoot out jokes like crazy with no honking or anything. Maybe it'll help, though.
This is embarrassing.
Bob Roth again?
Oh I get that. I get that so hard.
Another great akuma design! Hawkmoth and the team behind this show can do good clowns.
So she only gets the remap when she summons a lucky charm? Odd.
LOVE the 'eyes drawn on eyelids' trick!
Damn. Ladybug is a powerhouse when pissed.
Pfft Chat carrying a tied up Ladybug making grumbling noises
Get his ass!
They're both so angry! I love it!
Oh. She turned into saltinette. That explains it.
This is probably one of the funniest episodes on the account of angry Ladybug.
I actually really liked that episode! The filler content wasn't too grating, and it was entertaining seeing Ladybug being a hothead! Also Adrien is right. Marinette is pretty funny.

Lifa's Life Update (+Sims Progress)
Well it's been a minute, but We're still here & I don't mind.
Things roughly in order:
I fully remapped onto a custom SC4 terrain & rebuilt an entire Sims 2 BG neighborhood to update it to UC (any guesses?), started working on clothing defaults for the aforementioned neighborhood.
Started 2 huge TS2 projects that I may someday finish, completely unrelated to all of that, because I was in Milkshape & I can't control myself.
Had my partner's friends over A LOT, like it seemed like every couple weeks for awhile someone would be crashing in the guest room. (They're my friends too they just... started off as partner's friends lol.)
Barbecued & grilled a lot, because friends & food.
Went to a VNV Nation show with my friend (things that are on the Elder Goth Bucket List lol), made a whole Yeet Weekend outta it & also went to Ikea, Fivebelow, Spirit Halloween, a local outdoor market, & a snowcone stand.
The fucking holidays.
Got sick, part 1.
Surprise, my cat has diabetes & needs 2x daily insulin shots!
More of the fucking holidays.
Got sick, part 2.
2x/month cat checkups to check blood sugar & adjust the dose, for like 3 months.
TX freezes, local friend doesn't have sufficient insulation or central heating in their home to deal with the temps, because TX, & comes to stay with me (with their cat) for a week because I have central heating.
During that week that my friend was here, Mr Diabetes Cat decided to a) eat all the dry kibble out of every bowl, b) refuse wet food at shots time because he was full of dry kibble, & then c) throw up kibble & turn around & pee all over my carpet right after throwing up, which resulted in him not getting his shots that night--they have to be given with food---& getting scheduled an urgent vet visit in the morning. (He's fine, just expensive.)
On the day it actually warmed up outside before it went back to 20 degrees, friend & I did a mini-hike together. We also had food from the Generic Asian Cuisine place (yeah I know, it's Texas though) where we got Pho, Lumpia, & a tofu stir-fry.
I regret having to work during the freezy times, unfortunately.
Partner obtained me a uhh... knockoff Steamdeck handheld? Rog Ally? so I can keep Win7 on my monster computer & also play my dumb ancient murder-aliens 4x RTS game on Steam that I like, but I haven't fixed my mods for it to play it, because I...
Got sick, part 3.
While sick, took Mr Diabetes Cat to his very last 2-week checkup; we're on 3-month checkup schedules now! Because he's stable! Yay!
The entire house is a disaster & I'm still not 100% but I'm back to cooking/cleaning a bit between work at least.
Working on more of the necessary clothing defaults for the TS2 neighborhood I redid.
Planning for March when the entire zoo needs to be vetted again for vaxxing, just gonna wrap the diabetes checkup into that & do everyone's bloodwork at that time also unless something drastic happens. (We do like 2-3 cats at a time over the course of 2 weeks, & then the dog on her own, we're not like... hauling a van of animals to the vet all at once...)
Need to get some of the soft mesh transportation prisons for the cats before then, because the big crate with the lid is about to disintegrate.

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
some old [last year] SAE screenies.
Mod links under the cut:
Whiterun at Skyrim Special Edition Nexus <- my favourite Whiterun textures come from here, because i just like there being white in Whiterun, personally. But i mix and match, for variety's sake (also, the ground textures are green >-< rude and wrong. my beloved tundra deserves respect. She's yellowbrown and beautiful the way she is!!). Lovely walls, dark wood textures, stone paving, etc etc. The only issue is the slate texture - it's not seamless, so won't tile well. Good idea to replace it with something else.
Whiterun Floor Custom By BigHead <- having said the stone paving of Whiterun by JCS is great, that doesn't mean I wasn't using a different one. This is that one.
Whiterun Stairs Parallax <- kept changing my mind abt which one of these to use, then. But one of them, for sure.
Tomato's Whiterun - Complex Parallax Material <- pretty sure the windows and a few other esoteric unpictured textures are from here, like the slate? but it's been a year. Could be wrong abt the latter (the windows, though, for sure Tomato's).
Illustrious Whiterun SE - 8K - Parallax - Complex Materials <- definitely stuff from here, I use it as a baseline basically all the time. [not right now though, currently basing on Boreal Whiterun - Complex Parallax for something a lil' different. Not too different, I refuse not to use Whiterun by JCS' white walls texture.] Anyway - I think I used some wood assets from here, plus doors and nails and such minutia.
I cannot for the life of me remember which banner mod i was using, exactly. Designs of the Nords SE, Sigils of Skyrim 4K-2K, Rally's Banners of Skyrim or Ennead Banners for the Solstheim merchant banners used by Abstract Whiterun.
Better Floors - Whiterun, pretty sure! Using it now, anyway.
Royal Wooden Floor RETEXTURE FOR Mrf's Solitude <- personally remapped these to whiterun, for use in the temple. Doesn't show up in these shots, but thought i'd shout it out anyway. Thought Kyne deserved a nicer flooring!
Imnot A Whiterun Field Grass Parallax <- gorgeous Whiterun ground texture. Looks super nice ingame and blends rlly well at seams between texturesets.
Parallax Earth Floor Whiterun + GG's Impoverished Whiterun with it's fancy main roads option, for a muddier backstreets and dryer main pathways look.
Ivy Whiterun Well - Whiterun Textures Patch <- Ivy's well is really nice <3. It didn't have the patch for using local Whiterun textures (default uses solitude textures, syk) when i took these screenies. But it does now!
Spaghetti's Cities - Whiterun <- pretty sure
An Abstract Skyrim - Whiterun <- for sure
Also, a since-deleted mod [proof i found of its existance, lol] by Skyklf, which has been superseded by Modular Whiterun. Er, probably, anyway; the market stall roof textures were from the og mod at least, personally tweaked. MW isn't exactly the same as the castle 3.0 edition of Skyklf's Whiterun overhaul (again, since deleted, now only Whiterun 2.0 is available - sadly a very buggy mod), which is a shame. I really liked that version. I am currently using MW, though not all of it.
Whiterun Market Archway - Spaghetti's Cities - AIO (or Whiterun) Patch <- patch wasn't available when I did this prev list. Glad it is now! am currently using it, also. For the AIO now, though.
The Bannered Mare Redesigned <- really nice mod!!
Whiterun Horse Statue - Retexture, though I prefer the one in Amon Textures HD AIO + BENDr these days [if BENDr is available for a textureset, rest assured I'm using it.]
Shad0wAng3l09's Whiterun interiors patches. Absolute godsend! I hate having to pick one or the other of these, they're all so nice. Pictured is arcadia's cauldron, I think. I mean, there's a cauldron.
Lux suite + Obsidian Weathers and Seasons, I think [this is memory only, because you can't really tell just by looking at it], with Amethyst - Weathers and Reshade preset's vanilla HDR [now outdated CS addon, unsupported] and Kreate presets. No reshade was used on these shots, I'm pretty sure! Just pure CS. Currently experimenting with NAT.CS III... haven't found a reshade I like very much yet. I'll get there, though. I'll get there.

List 5 things that make you happy, then put this in the askbox for the last 10 people who liked or reblogged something from you! Get to know your mutuals and followers :3
Oh gosh I don't really have more than 10 people who like or reblog something from me like that! I'm not very popular, so games like these do not go very well. 1) I enjoy programming and math when it lines up. There's something about a good working equation that just makes me want to smile. This also goes in Minecraft, where you can set up patterns of like... 3 block wide, 5 block wide, 3 block wide, and then somehow it'll occasionally mathematically add up to be even with whatever it is you want to do. It's the best! 2) We have a local food place, and it is To Die For. I didn't like it at first, but after I requested my fries to be extra crispy, started using the provided salt, and started ordering their chicken (took me a while to find a main course I liked), I actually really fuck with it now. I love me some fries n' chicken. Also their prices are cheaper than fast food places nowadays o.o" 3) I like spending time with my partner! She's funny, smart, quick witted, and we simply bond well. It's really nice to do things with her, whatever they are, and she always puts a bright smile on my face. 4) I like taking showers. I remapped what the purpose of a shower is in my head, and now they're a delight. Showers are a privilege a lot of people take for granted, and I used to be among that list. Now when I take a shower, I consider it as *hydrotherapy* rather than *cleaning myself*, and it's been making me want to take them far more often than ever. I like to take them nice and hot and gosh it just really makes me have a good time for as long as I am in them. 5) Baking! I love baking. Whether it's cupcakes, cakes, pretzels, brownies... I've recently discovered the joy of working with yeast and nothing tends to put a bigger smile on my face than a risen dough and the sweet, salty delight of whatever rising bread I am happening to work with. I would love to do this more... I'm gonna cheat and do 6. 6) Myself. For as much troubles and depression as I have, I find that my problem isn't actually self hate. Sure, I put myself down at times, but I think a lot of it stems from unmedicated mental health issues. I do care about myself, I just care about myself in weird and unusual ways. After I clean myself, I continue showering just for the hot water, as it feels good. I let myself lay in an hour longer when I have no responsibilities, because I deserve good rest. I eat foods that I personally like, and make sure to treat myself. I get a vitamin every day. I don't get as much exercise as I should, but I do take walks every so often, and they tend to be good exercise with how much of a sweat I work up because of uphill&duration of the walk 😅 Thank you for asking me!

Maximize Power and Efficiency: The Benefits of Chiptuning for Your Vehicle
Tumblr media
Ever press the gas pedal and feel like your car just sighed instead of springing to life? I’ve been there too. I remember driving a friend’s turbocharged hatchback. It felt sharper, more responsive, and simply more alive. I assumed it had a fancy engine upgrade or a racing chip. Turns out, it was something else entirely: chiptuning.
What’s the Buzz Around Chiptuning?
More drivers are hearing about ECU remapping and performance chips. And it's not just gearheads chasing top speed. Parents in SUVs want better mileage. Taxi drivers are after improved fuel efficiency. Chiptuning has become a smart, cost-effective upgrade for all kinds of drivers.
I’ve been around cars long enough to see the good, the bad, and everything in between. I’ve tested tuned cars, helped friends decide if it was worth it, and learned a lot through firsthand experience.
Here’s what I’ve learned. No fluff, no hype. Just what tuning is, how it works, and what to expect.
What Is Chiptuning?
Chiptuning is all about adjusting your car’s engine control unit (ECU). The ECU is like your car’s brain. It decides how much fuel goes in, how the turbo behaves, when the ignition fires, and more.
Car manufacturers set these controls with safety margins and average driving in mind. That leaves room for improvement. By tweaking the ECU, we can often make the engine more efficient or more powerful, depending on your goals.
How Does It Work?
Instead of replacing hardware, a tuner adjusts software. They read the ECU data, adjust it using calibration tools, then upload the new settings.
Some drivers use plug-and-play chips, which are easy to remove later. Others go for more in-depth tuning, which adjusts turbo pressure, air-fuel ratios, and ignition timing.
Whether you want quicker acceleration, smoother throttle response, or better MPG, tuning can help fine-tune how your engine behaves.
What Are the Real Benefits?
Let’s get to the good stuff. Here’s what most people notice after a proper tune:
1. More Power
Your car starts to respond the moment you touch the pedal. The engine pulls harder and feels more alive.
2. Boost in Horsepower
Turbocharged engines usually gain 15 to 30 percent more power. Even non-turbo cars often get a modest but noticeable bump.
3. More Torque
Torque means pulling power. You’ll feel the difference when climbing hills, towing a trailer, or overtaking on the highway.
4. Sharper Throttle
If your car feels sluggish when you accelerate, tuning can fix that. It smooths out city driving and makes your car feel lighter.
5. Better Fuel Efficiency
This surprises many people. Especially in diesel engines, tuning can reduce fuel use by optimizing injection timing. Long-distance drivers can see real savings over time.
6. Affordable Upgrade
Compared to buying new parts or a new car, tuning is budget-friendly and gives instant results.
What Changed After I Tuned My Car?
I tested it on my older diesel. The improvement was instant. Power delivery became smoother, and I noticed a drop in fuel use. Over long drives, I saved around 10 percent on fuel. That paid for the tuning within a year.
Is It Safe?
Yes, if it’s done right. Safe tuning comes from professionals who know your engine. Stay far away from downloaded maps or cheap tools. Bad software can do more harm than good.
A Few Things to Think About:
Local laws: Some places have emissions rules. Check before tuning.
Warranty: If your car is under warranty, the manufacturer might not cover tuned engines.
Insurance: Some providers want to know if the car has been tuned. Others don’t ask. It’s smart to check first.
Diesel vs Petrol: Who Wins?
Diesel engines usually see more gains in torque and fuel savings. Great for commuters or those who drive long distances.
Petrol engines tend to get more horsepower and throttle improvements. Perfect if you enjoy a more responsive drive.
Is It Worth It?
If your car runs well and you plan to keep it, tuning is usually worth it. Especially if:
You want quicker acceleration
You’re trying to cut fuel costs
You want more torque or smoother throttle response
It won’t fix engine problems though. A tune can’t undo wear and tear or clogged injectors.
Common Myths
Myth 1: Only for Racers
Plenty of families, delivery drivers, and rideshare drivers get their cars tuned. It’s not just about speed.
Myth 2: It Destroys Engines
Tuning done by a pro doesn’t damage a healthy engine. Problems happen when people use cheap or wrong software.
Myth 3: Always Illegal
Legal chiptuning exists. Just stay aware of emissions rules in your area.
What Are the Risks?
Like any upgrade, there are a few risks:
Extra wear: Aggressive tuning can stress parts faster. Mild maps are safer for daily use.
Insurance: You might need to inform your provider.
Warranty: Some manufacturers void coverage for tuned engines.
Bad software: This is the biggest risk. One wrong setting can wreck your engine.
How to Choose a Tuning Service
Look for tuners with experience on your car make. Ask what software they use. Read reviews and see if people mention good support.
A good tuner will ask about your driving habits. They’ll explain the pros and cons without pushing aggressive settings.
Final Thoughts
Tuning isn’t just for car enthusiasts anymore. It can help cut fuel costs, improve daily driving, or simply bring some fun back into your commute.
I’ve driven tuned and stock versions of the same car. The difference is clear. A good tune doesn’t turn your car into a race car. It just makes it better for what you actually do.
Ready to Try It?
If you're curious, book a consultation. Ask questions. Talk to drivers who’ve done it. Whether your goal is better MPG or more torque, a solid tune can bring out the best in your vehicle.
Let your car breathe easier. You might just start enjoying your drives again.

Inside ALDI's Counterintuitive Path to Retail Dominance
While mainstream retailers are bound by bureaucracy on top of bureaucracy, ALDI's revolutionary decentralized structure has remapped retail management. This German discounting giant is based on a straightforward yet revolutionary premise: trust your frontline employees. Each store manager is a mini-CEO with the power to make instant decisions on staffing, local promotions, and stock blends without reference to headquarters. Such autonomy enables an agility that corporate-driven chains can hardly get close to.
The evidence is in the figures. In Australia, this de-centralized approach allowed ALDI to identify and exploit local market niches that the Coles-Woolworths monopoly had ignored for decades. Neighborhood managers, with intimate knowledge of their area, could change product ranges overnight to match neighborhood preferences. Where others took weeks to push decisions through tiers of management, ALDI stores were able to shift direction on a dime. This operational flexibility, combined with ALDI's mythical price leadership, allowed the company to capture nearly 10% of the Australian supermarket sector in just 15 years - something that had taken generations of foreign competitors to accomplish.
Cost-Cutting as a Strategic Art Form
ALDI has made operational efficiency a business strategy and a philosophy. The company's "no frills" approach methodically cuts out every unnecessary expense without compromising quality. Where others have enormous middle management layers, ALDI operates with an amazingly flat organization. Where other grocery stores stock 40,000 SKUs, ALDI thrives with just 1,800 carefully curated items. This radical simplification creates efficiencies at every stage of the business.
The company's private label strategy is one example. By focusing on its own brands (which account for about 90% of sales), ALDI does not have to pay the slotting fees and promotional allowances on national brands. Its limited assortment results in each item turning over more rapidly, keeping inventory costs low. Even the stores themselves are efficiency-oriented - typically 30-40% smaller than conventional supermarkets, with plain shelving and minimal ornamentation. These gains aren't just pocketed as profit; they're passed directly to customers, creating a virtuous cycle of value that no one else can match.
The Innovation Paradox: Doing More With Less
Contrary to conventional wisdom, ALDI's price focus stifles no creativity - it nourishes it. Its collaboration with suppliers to build multi-pallet forklift systems transformed food retail logistics. By negotiating the standardization of packaging sizes and carefully placing barcodes with manufacturers, ALDI designed supply chain efficiencies that saved millions on the bottom line.
ALDI's "test in three" new-product rollout strategy is one example of such thinking outside the box. Rather than rolling out new products company-wide, ALDI rolls them out in only three stores. This strategy gains feedback in the real world at low risk. If the product sells, it can be rolled out nationwide. If it doesn't sell, the impact is minimized. This experimental approach in controlled form allows ALDI to constantly innovate without abandoning its stingy operating methods.
Relationship Economics: The ALDI Advantage
ALDI's supplier relationships demonstrate perhaps its most unconventional competitive advantage. While other retailers take short-term profits from suppliers, ALDI builds ten-year relationships on fair pricing and prompt payment. This creates trust that translates into better terms, proprietary products, and collaborative innovation opportunities.
The company's payment policies are particularly significant. Rivals might take 90 days or more to pay, but ALDI typically pays within 30 days. This predictability gives ALDI priority access to the best suppliers and products, even during shortages. Suppliers understand that conducting business with ALDI is an affair of steady business and fair treatment - an elusive item in the competitive grocery industry.
The Asian Challenge: ALDI's Next Frontier
As ALDI casts its gaze east to the booming supermarket industry in Asia, it is tested as never before. The firm's tried-and-true model - limited assortment, private brands, and small-store formats - might have to be modified for markets where fresh food reigns supreme and shopping patterns are quite different from those in the West.
To thrive, ALDI must balance adaptation and discipline. Raising product lines to stock more fresh produce and local staples can attract Asian consumers, but risking the erosion of the operating efficiencies that make the model work. The company's success in meeting this challenge - being loyal to its core tenets but attuning to local market needs - will determine whether it can translate its Western success to the East.
Conclusion: The Lean Retail Revolution
ALDI's story offers more than retail lessons - it's a masterclass in the construction of competitive advantage through simplicity. In an era obsessed with endless variety and constant promotion, ALDI proved that less could be more. Its success contradicts underlying assumptions in retail: that customers want unlimited choice, that shops need to be richly merchandised, that suppliers need to be milked.
As retail enters its next phase - driven by e-commerce, automation, and changing values - ALDI's recipe becomes more relevant. The chain shows how to empower frontline workers, retain supplier relationships, and continue to obsess about the fundamentals in a bid to develop resilience in turbulent times.
For competitors, the stakes are profound. ALDI's growth confirms that lean beats big in today's retail. Companies that are unable to compete on ALDI's cost and operating efficiency basis will be left behind. For ALDI itself, the future lies in continuing to expand its model into new markets and formats without sacrificing the simplicity that brought it to where it is now. If history is any guide, this cautious discounter will continue to surprise the trade and delight bargain-hunting shoppers around the world.
